Welcome to First School |
|

|
First School
provides a curriculum that supports the concept of an ideal pre-school
environment by allowing every child freedom of choice
within a structured situation without placing adult values on the
child's play, responses, relationships and performances. We
strive to create impressions and form values in the First School program
that will start each pre-school student toward a meaningful, productive
life.

Our
unique program allows for the individuality and specific rate of growth of
every student. Our teaching goal is to nourish each child by helping him/her
build skills, while at the same time, allowing him/her to develop a positive
self-image.

Programs are provided which emphasize sensory experiences,
visual-motor, perceptual development, rewarding self-concept experiences
and social and emotional growth. |

The First
School curriculum is designed to stimulate the child's intellectual
curiosity, thereby increasing
his rate of development and enhancing his ability to learn. Areas of
interest are implemented in the classrooms that provide each child
with the opportunity to experience a wide variety of subject matter.
These areas cover information and materials in activities including
art, music, language arts, manipulative play, listening skills,
mathematics, housekeeping, cooking, science, nature study, speech
and creative dramatics.
.
-
Sensorimotor training
and daily outdoor play also are included in the program to aid in the
child's muscular coordination and perceptual skill development.
|
|
-
Special
event days featuring children's plays, excursions, guest
personalities, nature outings and other activities are presented as
an additional source of interest and enjoyment for the students.
