THREE YEAR OLD PROGRAM
3 Year Old Program

Our Three-Year-Old teachers guide students to independence and social skills are emphasized. It is important to us that our students leave us with an ability to be responsible for themselves, cooperate in a group, and communicate with peers and adults to secure their needs.

In our Three-Year-Old class, fun is the best way to learn. Through play, we explore different language, math and science topics. Art is an exciting time each day where students explore both process oriented art (painting just to explore the way a paint brush moves across the paper and different types of strokes, etc.) and crafts (activities used to teach following directions and fine motor skills). Each day there is a class meeting where we introduce different topics that we will explore throughout the day and classic literature are shared. There is a heavy emphasis on science topics and high interest topics are used to inspire children to discover new skills and information. Our teachers are able to differentiate instruction to reach children at their various ability levels and help each student grow.

Each day the children enjoy a sensori-motor class that develops large and fine motor skills. Each week the students join with the entire school for a music class. Two field trips occur throughout the year and many special days are celebrated.

As in all of our age levels, staff constantly refers to the Ohio Prekindergarten Content Learning Standards, Early Childhood research, and information from our area Kindergarten programs to assure that First School Students are prepared to excel when transitioning to their next program level.
